Hello,

Well, the new IPCA board has been together just over three months. During that time we have put together a list of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic goals and objectives. The list was not developed in a vacuum, but used the information from the 2009 Strategic Goals, from previous survey suggestions and suggestions from members. We have a lot of work ahead of us to implement these goals, but I am please to say that progress has already been made. The following items have already been implemented or will be implemented shortly:

judy.jpgAs I prepare to hand over the reins to incoming IPCA President Suzanne Ivester, the events of the past two years are very much on my mind.  It has been a wonderful time, filled with new ideas, opportunities and direction for our community.  I am proud that we were able to accomplish many of our goals, and I have great confidence that the momentum will continue in the capable hands of Suzanne and the new Board.

Before I officially hand those reins over, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to the accomplishments of the past two years.  I can’t tell you how many times people have conveyed to me their appreciation for the work that Board members have done in furthering the mission of the IPCA.  These members have been a joy to work with and I want to take this time to publicly thank them for their time and talents.

judybfellowship.jpgIn the early days, the NPCG's stated purpose was to bring together artists who shared an interest in this brand new art medium. Great new techniques arrived at a dizzying pace and the excitement was hard to contain. Now, the pioneers in this medium have grown into artists of great stature - their works in shows and museums and in private collections around the world. We are today's pioneers. Our job is to build on the past and push ourselves, our Guild and our techniques to new heights.

The newly elected board's promise to you is simple - strengthen it as an organization and improve its services to its members. In this regard, you will see many exciting things happen in the near future. Many of these were already in the works before I took office. For that, I want to thank the previous Board members.
