Here is a guild spotlight for the Lakewood, Colorado guild, submitted by Patty Schneider: I’m a member of the Mile High Polymer Clay Guild here in Lakewood, Colorado. It was founded in the mid 90s by Lynne Denio who served as its 1st president. Our current president is Clare Pramuk and we are 85 members strong and growing. We meet on the 4th Saturday of each month, (except in December), at Lochwood Christian Fellowship church located at 1354 S. Union Blvd. General meetings start at 10:30 am and run until 3 pm. There’s a demo each month, and the rest of the day is devoted to playing with clay, except in January when we host our popular Holiday Recovery Party which includes a fun gift exchange, a silent auction, pot luck, as well as displays of our art work for others to enjoy and purchase. The MHPCG has an extensive library, with books, videos, and DVD’s for our members. This year our guild shop will include regular group orders to get the best prices for hard to find items. We have a lot of equipment for members to use at meetings and to check out for a month, (PMC kiln, buffer, cloud dome for photography, molds, and stamps to name a few). Each year we have the opportunity to take classes with world famous polymer clay artists like Christi Friesen, Sarah Shriver and Lynne Ann Schwarzenburg, (we’ll be hosting Doreen Gay-Kassel this spring for another workshop), as well as clay day retreats. If you live in the front range/Denver, CO area, come check us out, you’ll be glad you did! Check out our website at: http://www.mhpcg.org/
